Valsartan

Valsartan Is the medication prescribed for the treatment of high blood pressure and heart failure. Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker that works by relaxing blood vessels, Easing blood flow. Well managed blood pressure will help reduce the risk of strokes, heart failure, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

How do I use Valsartan?

Tablet forms of Valsartan Should be used by mouth with or without food. If you have the liquid form of this medication, shaped medicine for at least 10 seconds before each dose. Measure your dose using the measuring device or spoon provided with this product.

The dosage of valsartan will be determined by your doctor based on your condition, body weight, and response to treatment.

As with many blood pressure medications, you may experience dizziness and lightheadedness as your body attempts to adjust to the medication. To reduce the risk of this happening, get up slowly when you rise from a sleeping or lying position.

Inform your doctor of fainting or symptoms of high blood potassium (such as slow or irregular heartbeat or muscle weakness)

Can Valsartan be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Valsartan Is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it may harm an unborn baby, however, if your doctor has prescribed this medication for you, it is important that you discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if Valsartan passes into breast milk.

What drugs may interact with Valsartan?

Some products may interact with Valsartan, Increasing the risk of side effects or lowering the effectiveness of this medication. Some products that may interact with Valsartan include:

• Aliskiren

• Lithium

• Medications that may increase levels of blood potassium levels ( ACE inhibitors, benazepril or Lisinopril and birth control medicine such as drospirenone)

• NSAIDs such as Naproxen and ibuprofen.
