What is Savlon Antiseptic liquid used for?

Savlon Antiseptic liquid is an antiseptic disinfectant formula containing Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Cetrimide that kills Germs and is used for Minor Cuts, Shaving, Laundry, and bathing.

Avalon Antiseptic Liquid Ingredient

Active ingredient: Cetrimide 2.25 % w/v and Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.225 % w/v.

Other ingredients include: benzyl benzoate 0.056% w/v

How does Salvon Antiseptic Liquid Work?

Savlon Antiseptic liquid contains two active antiseptic ingredients, Cetrimide and Chlorhexidine Digluconate. Cetrimide works by destroying the cellular structure of fungal and bacterial microorganisms while Chlorhexidine Digluconate has a broad spectrum and is very effective at reducing bacteria.

How to use Savlon Antiseptic Liquid

For initial aid, mix 1 part Savlon Antiseptic Liquid with 15 parts of water before applying it to cuts and scrapes.
If used for shaving, combine 2 spoons of Savlon Antiseptic Liquid with a mug of water.
For bathing, blend a spoonful of Savlon Antiseptic Liquid into a bucket of water.

What differences are there between Dettol and Savlon antiseptic liquid?

The active ingredients in Savlon antiseptic liquid are Cetrimide (3.0% w/v) and Chlorhexidine gluconate (0.3% W/V) while that of Dettol is Chloroxylenol (4.8%w/v).
