Oxyurea Is a medication used in reducing the number of painful crises caused by the disease – sickle cell anemia and also the need for blood transfusions. Oxyurea is used in treating certain types of cancer such as chronic myelogenous leukemia, squamous cell carcinomas, carcinoma of the ovary, and other purposes unlisted here. 

What are the side effects of Oxyurea?

Possible side effects of Oxyurea include:

• Fever

• Dryness

• Hair loss or alopecia

• Gastrointestinal disturbances

• Increased skin pigmentation

• Cutaneous atrophy

• Plantar keratoderma

• Pseudo dermatomyositis

• Didanosine

• Radiation therapy

• Stavudine

Oxyurea contains the active ingredient hydroxyl urea at 500mg per capsule.

Oxyurea is not safe for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is very important that you discuss all medications you may be using during pregnancy with your doctor or pharmacist. 

How do I use Oxyurea?
