Not getting enough sleep is fast becoming a common phenomenon in our world today.


It almost seems impossible to have a GOOD night rest with everything going on all around( especially work, family and other stuff in between). Even the environment, sometimes, interferes with our natural sleep patterns.

I guess you’ve had one of those days when you just feel cranky, sleepy, lethargic and irritable all through the day,all because you did not sleep well the previous night.

However, It is popular knowledge, that sleeping well or having a good night rest is essential and rightly so.

¶ Sleeping helps to improve and strengthen your memory.

¶ It also helps to prevent mental health issues such as depression.

To ensure you sleep well, several researchers have proven that sticking to a particular sleep-wake schedule helps a lot. Also, be careful of caffeine and avoid bright lights and bright screen before bedtime.

 

Failure to get enough sleep leads to several effects on your health such as:

¶ Diabetes
¶ Poor memory
¶ Headaches and so on.

Although, researchers have discovered that children below 13 years are meant to sleep for more than 8 hours a day, while adults are meant to sleep for 7-9 hours a day.

You really do not have to be so conscious about the number of hours you spend sleeping. Just ensure you get deep quality sleep.

It’s not enough to eat the right food, use the right medicine and exercise well in order to stay healthy. You also have to ensure that you get enough good quality sleep to stay healthy.
