What is Acinil?

Acinil is a medication prescribed alone or alongside other medications in the treatment of stomach and intestinal ulcers. It is also used to relieve the symptoms of Gastrointestinal Reflux Disease (GERD) such as heartburn and chest pain.

Acinil belongs to a group of drugs called Histamine Receptor Antagonists. Acinil works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach produces.

What is Acinil used for?

Acinil is used in the prevention and treatment of GERD, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, ulcers caused by NSAIDs,and heartburn. It is also used with antibiotics to treat stomach ulcers caused by the H. pylori bacteria. Acinil is also used to prevent ulcers from recurring after they healed.

How should I use Acinil?

Use Acinil as instructed by your doctor, or follow the directions on the product prescription label. Acinil is to be taken by mouth. It can be taken with or without food. Do not break or chew or crush. Take Acinil with a full glass of water.

The dose and treatment length for Acinil depends on the condition being treated. Consult your doctor or read the product description label. Do not use more or less of this medication. Also, do not take it more times than prescribed by your doctor or as indicated on the product label.

What is the best time of day to take Acinil?

Acinil tablets are best taken in the morning, one hour before a meal.

Who should not take Omeprazole?

Do not take Acinil if you have:

an allergy to Omeprazole
kidney problems
a Vitamin B deficiency
low blood calcium or potassium

Can I take Acinil every day?

Acinil tablets should not be taken for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor. Using Acinil for increased periods of time can increase your risk of kidney problems, fractures and Vitamin B deficiency.
