What is Nugel-O?

Composition.
It contains Alginic Acid, Aluminium Hydroxide, and Magnesium Trisilicate as active ingredients.
Uses
It is used for the treatment of used for Gastric reflux, Heartburn, Peptic ulcer pain, Sour stomach, Overdose, Toxicity, Acid indigestion, and other conditions.
Dosage
Use as prescribed by a doctor.
Side Effects
Common side effects include Gas, Severe stomach pain, Constipation, Bloody or tarry stools, Coughing up blood, Swelling in the ankles or feet, Stomach condition worsening, Diarrhea, Nausea, Mild stomach cramps, Altered sense of taste, loss of appetite, Confusion, Unusual tiredness, Muscle weakness, Skin rash, Stomach upset and Acute toxicity.
Interactions
Nugel- O may interact and interfere with the effects of the following drugs and products: Abacavir, Acetaminophen, Aluminium hydroxide, Ascorbic acid, Aspirin, Biphosphonate derivatives, Cephalosporins, Citrates, Clomipramine, and Corticosteroids.
Contraindications
Nugel-O suspension is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to Aluminium hydroxide and those who suffer from Aluminum poisoning, Chronic diarrhea, Chronic heart failure, Citrate salts, Diarrhea, Hemorrhoids, a High amount of sodium in the blood, and Impacted stool.
Precautions
Avoid antacids at the same time as other medicines, Do not use Aluminum hydroxide for more than 2 weeks unless instructed by your doctor.
Limit alcohol intake while using this drug.
Do not use if you suffer from Gastrointestinal bleeding, Alzheimer’s disease, Diarrhea, Appendicitis, a Stomach blockage, Ileostomy, Kidney problems, Stomach bleeding, Heart disease, and Hypertension
Is Nugel O taken before or after meals?
Take antacids about 1 hour after eating or when you have heartburn. If you are taking them for symptoms at night, DO NOT take them with food.
How long does liquid antacid take to work?
Antacids work best if taken 30 to 60 minutes before eating. Histamine blockers take effect in about an hour, but must be taken twice a day for heartburn prevention.
