What is CEFUNAT Suspension Used For?

CEFUNAT is used to treat bacterial infections such as: Throat infections (like tonsillitis and pharyngitis), Ear infections (otitis media), Sinus infections, Lung infections (like bronchitis and mild pneumonia), Urinary tract infections, and Skin and soft tissue infections

It does not work against viral infections such as the flu or the common cold.

CEFUNAT Suspension Ingredients

The active ingredient in CEFUNAT Suspension is Cefuroxime Axetil, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic and it works by stopping the growth of bacteria that cause infections. The suspension is flavored and sweetened to make it easier for children to take.

How Does CEFUNAT Suspension Work?

Cefuroxime Axetil works by interfering with the bacteria’s cell wall formation. As a result, the infection starts to clear up as the bacteria are destroyed by the body’s immune system.

CEFUNAT Suspension Dosage and How to Use

Always follow the doctor’s instructions when giving CEFUNAT to your child. CEFUNAT Suspension dosage is based on the child’s age, weight, and the severity of the infection. It’s usually taken twice a day (every 12 hours), with or after food to avoid stomach upset.
