Trental Is a medication containing the active ingredient – pentoxifylline which is used in improving the symptoms of blood flow problems in the arms and legs (intermittent claudication) caused by occlusive artery disease, to decrease aching, pain, or cramps during walking or exercise, that occurs with intermittent claudication.
Pentoxifylline belongs to a class of medication known as haemorrheologic agents, Which works by helping blood flow more easily through narrowed arteries, thereby increasing the flow and amount of oxygen that can be delivered by the arteries and blood when do muscles need more.
How do I use Trental MR tablets?
Trental MR tablets are to be used by mouth with food, usually three times daily. Your dosage should be as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Do not crush or chew this medication. Also, you should not split this medication except it has a scoreline.
Furthermore, do not stop using Trental MR Without consulting your doctor. General improvements in symptoms can occur within two to four weeks, but full benefits may take up to 8 weeks to be realized.
