What is Cardiovasc 20?
Cardiovasc 20 is a medication containing 20mg or lercanidipine hydrochloride. Lercanidipine hydrochloride belongs to a class of medication known as Calcium channel blockers (dihydropyridine derivatives) that helps in reducing blood pressure, thus lowering the risk of strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.
Is Cardiovasc 20 recommended for children?
Cardiovasc 20 Is not recommended for use in children or anyone less than 18 years of age.
Who should not use Cardiovasc 20?
People who suffer from any heart condition should cautiously use this medication. In other words, inform your doctor of any known heart conditions before using this medicine.
Do not use this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney problems or undergoing dialysis.
Do not use this medicine if you are using antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, antivirals or are using cyclosporine.
Do not use Cardiovasc 20 with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.
Use of Cardiovasc 20 during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Cardiovasc 20 is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
What is the recommended dosage of Cardiovasc 20?
The recommended dosage of Cardiovasc is 10mg per day which may be increased based on your condition to a maximum daily dosage of 20mg.
What are the side effects of Cardiovasc?
Some of the side effects of this medication include:
· chest tightness
· rapid heartbeat
· sudden redness or face, neck or upper chest
· low blood pressure
· stomach pain
· muscle pain
· increased urination
