What Is Aquaclav?

Aquaclav Uses

It is a penicillin-type antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as Pneumonia, Tonsillitis, Bronchitis, Skin and tissue infections, Ear infections, Nasal sinus, and Urinary tract infections.

Aquaclav Dosage

Aquaclav should be used as prescribed by a physician. It should be used orally at about the same time every day and should not be taken on an empty stomach. 

Aquaclav Side Effects

Common side effects may include Nausea, Heartburn, Vomiting, Urticaria, Asthma, Hay fever, Hepatitis, Cholestatic jaundice, Hepatotoxicity, Anaemia, Thrombocytopenia, Eosinophilia, Leukopenia, Agitation, Anxiety, Depression, Seizures, Diarrhea,  Hallucinations, Insomnia, Confusion, Sore mouth or tongue, Black or hairy tongue, Skin rashes, and other allergic reactions. 


It is important that you let your doctor know if you’re on any medication or you’re allergic to antibiotics and any of the constituents of this product. Aquaclav should be administered with caution in patients with syphilis, as some patients may experience a Jarisch Herxheimer reaction after commencing treatment with this drug.


Aquaclav is contraindicated in patients who suffer from kidney or liver diseases and patients who are allergic to penicillin and cephalosporin. It is also contraindicated in infectious mononucleosis.


Aquaclav may interact and interfere with the effects of the following drugs and products; Probenecid, Coumarin, Heparin, NSAIDs such as Aspirin, and Oestrogen-containing oral contraceptives.
